Reed Talent Solutions are recruiting for an experienced PIP2 Supervisor / Senior Investigator to support Operation Warden, a high-priority initiative focused on investigating antisemitic and other priority hate crime offences.
This role combines hands-on investigative oversight with team leadership responsibilities, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, consistent investigations during periods of heightened demand driven by key events and community tensions.
You will play a critical role in maintaining investigative standards, supporting staff performance, and strengthening collaboration across policing and partner agencies.
This is an initial 12-month contract with possibility for extension, the hourly rate is £26.38 + holiday and benefits via Reed PAYE (Umbrella rates also available). The role is office based in Ashton-Under-Lyme.
Key Responsibilities
Supervisory & Leadership Duties
Provide day-to-day oversight of investigative standards across a team of PIP2 investigators
Allocate and manage workloads effectively, ensuring timely progression of cases
Monitor performance, providing coaching, guidance, and professional development support
Ensure compliance with PIP2 investigative standards, disclosure obligations, and force policies
Act as a key liaison with senior leadership and partner agencies
Operational Responsibilities
Oversee and support investigations into hate crime and other priority offences, including complex cases
Ensure robust victim engagement and safeguarding practices are consistently applied
Review and quality assure case files, evidential strategies, and decision-making
Support investigators with case building, interviews, and evidential challenges
Maintain strong working relationships with the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) and wider criminal justice partners
Work collaboratively with Investigation Teams, Neighbourhood Policing, and Warden teams to ensure a joined-up approach
Key Requirements
PIP2 accreditation (essential)
Demonstrable experience in supervising or mentoring investigators
Strong background managing serious and complex investigations
In-depth knowledge of criminal justice procedures, disclosure, and case file standards
Experience working with vulnerable victims and sensitive case types, including hate crime (desirable)
Proven ability to manage workloads and deliver under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
