Operations Assistant

I'm currently recruiting for an Operations Assistant to join a fantastic local business based just outside Carnforth, close to the railway station.

Having visited the site personally, I was genuinely impressed by the team, the working environment, and the business itself. It's a friendly, supportive company that produces high-quality food products supplied to major UK retailers, and due to securing additional supermarket contracts, demand for their products has increased significantly.

This is an immediate requirement, with the opportunity to start as soon as possible.

The Role
This position involves working across a number of production and packing stations, including:

• Operating machinery that places products into bags- putting the bag on the machine, pressing the leaver with your foot, then moving the bag to the next station
• Sealing packaged products -this is done with a stitch machine
• Packing products into boxes- 6-8 packets each box
• Loading boxes into machinery used within the packaging process - the machine will build the boxes, you just need to load the flat boes into machine and once they come out made, stack them in 10s
• Rotating between different stations throughout the day to provide variety and support across the operation

Hours & Pay

• 30 hours per week
• 3 days per week (10 hour shifts with breaks)
• 8:00am - 6:00pm shifts - 2 15 mins break and 30min lunch
• Days worked between Monday and Friday
• £13.50 per hour

This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to work fewer days whilst still achieving full-time style hours and earnings.

What You'll Need
This is an active role, so we're looking for someone who is comfortable being on their feet throughout a 10-hour shift. You will also be required to wear PPE, including:

• Hairnets
• Protective overalls
• Shoe coverings

These measures are essential to maintain the high food safety standards required by the business.

Temporary to Permanent Opportunity
The client is ultimately looking for someone who can join them on a temporary-to-permanent basis. However, they have an immediate need for the next 3 to 4 weeks, so even if you are simply available in the short term and can help support the business during this busy period, I would still love to hear from you.
