An established international business is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Management Accountant to join its finance team. Operating across multiple European markets, the organisation offers an exciting opportunity for a finance professional who enjoys combining analytical work with working with people and accounts.
This role would suit an experienced Assistant Accountant, Finance Analyst or Accounts Assistant looking to take the next step in their career within a supportive and growing business.
The Role
Working as part of the finance team, you will play a key role in producing accurate financial information, supporting month-end processes and helping to drive continuous improvement across finance operations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Producing monthly management accounts and assisting with group reporting requirements.
- Analysing, manipulating and interpreting financial data to support business reporting.
- Preparing financial schedules, reports and commentary.
- Completing month-end journals, balance sheet reconciliations and supporting period-end close activities.
- Managing stock funding reconciliations across multiple lending providers.
- Supervising and supporting two Accounts Assistants.
- Reviewing treasury, purchase ledger and bank account processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Overseeing reconciliations for multiple multi-currency bank accounts.
- Providing cover for treasury and purchase ledger functions when required.
- Identifying opportunities to automate and improve finance processes.
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns across multiple jurisdictions.
- Monitoring stock movements and ensuring appropriate financial reporting.
- Processing monthly payroll and maintaining HR-related records.
- Providing financial guidance and support to colleagues across the wider business.
About You
To be successful, you will have:
- Previous experience in a finance or accounting role.
- Strong Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, lookups and data analysis.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- A solid understanding of accounting principles.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- The ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
Desirable Skills
- Part-qualified AAT, ACCA or CIMA.
- Payroll experience
- Experience using ERP or finance systems.
- Knowledge of additional European languages would be advantageous.
