Our client based in Northwich, Cheshire is looking for an experienced IT Manager to join a growing education focused IT team supporting four schools. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands on IT professional who can combine leadership, technical expertise and stakeholder engagement in a busy multi site environment.
Working closely with the IT Director, you will oversee the delivery of IT services across all school locations, ensuring systems remain secure, reliable and effective for both staff and students. You will also lead a team of three IT Technicians, providing guidance, support and technical leadership.
The successful candidate will be comfortable travelling regularly between sites and building strong relationships with a range of stakeholders across the schools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and support day to day IT operations across four schools.
- Lead, mentor and develop a team of three IT Technicians.
- Act as the senior escalation point for complex technical issues.
- Ensure IT infrastructure, systems and services operate effectively across all sites.
- Work closely with the IT Director to deliver IT projects and service improvements.
- Manage and maintain Microsoft cloud and infrastructure technologies.
- Oversee system performance, availability and security.
- Build strong relationships with school leadership teams and key stakeholders.
- Support technology upgrades, deployments and digital transformation initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with IT policies, procedures and safeguarding requirements.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Previous experience in an IT Manager, Senior IT Technician, IT Team Lead capacity
- Strong technical expertise across:
- Microsoft 365
- Azure
- Entra ID
- Intune
- Windows Operating Systems
- Experience managing, mentoring or leading technical support staff.
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to work across multiple locations and manage competing priorities.
