Job Title: Industrial Cook Location: Ashford Contract: Temporary to permanent Pay rate: £12.95, increasing to £13.80 after 6 months
Hours: Monday to Friday, 6:30am-3pm OR 11:30am-8pm (you would be on one of these shifts on a permanent basis)
Responsibility: To control, manufacture and process of hot sauces according to recipe instructions, including, ingredient picking, filling and cleaning.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Reading recipes and following cooking instructions to produce quality produce.
Weighing ingredients and pouring into machinery.
To pay particular attention to traceability, ensuring all materials used on site have complete traceability.
To maintain all Production paperwork including the Production Control sheets is completed as required.
To ensure all work surfaces, equipment, plant, and clothing are maintained in a hygienic state.
To ensure all food safety controls (HACCP) are adhered to (Heat Processing, Metal Detection and Filtration where required).
To maintain raw materials and finished goods at the correct temperatures, and free from contamination with foreign bodies.
To report any non-conforming product to the technical department.
To ensure that raw materials are segregated if required (Allergens, Organic or similar).
To report any malfunctioning plant to management.
To maintain working environments in clean and tidy state.
Adhere to company Glass & Plastics, Wood and Allergen Management Policies.
What We’re Looking For:
Previous experience in cooking or chef work required.
Must be comfortable with heavy lifting and manual handling, up to 25kg.
Computer literate and be comfortable with PLC operated systems.
A keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to work.
