We are currently recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Engineer (Mechanical Bias) to join a well-established food manufacturing site in Ipswich. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a fast-paced production environment, supporting site performance and reliability through proactive and reactive maintenance.
Working on a Panama shift pattern (rotating days and nights), you will play a key role in ensuring minimal downtime and maintaining high engineering standards across the site.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across production machinery
Diagnose and repair mechanical faults efficiently to minimise downtime
Support electrical fault finding where required (basic level)
Work on a variety of food processing and packaging equipment
Ensure compliance with food safety, health & safety, and hygiene standards
Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives
Accurately complete all maintenance documentation and reports
About You
Apprenticeship or relevant engineering qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND or equivalent)
Strong mechanical engineering background with some electrical knowledge
Experience working in a food manufacturing or FMCG environment (highly desirable)
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Flexible approach to work and comfortable working day and night shifts
Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset
