The Role

Reporting into the Head of HR, you will act as the operational lead for HR and support the delivery of people-focused initiatives across the organisation.

Working within a small HR team, you will support a workforce of 200+ employees in a varied role with a strong emphasis on recruitment and employee relations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and supporting a small HR team, overseeing day-to-day HR operations
  • Managing end-to-end recruitment for a range of roles, partnering with hiring managers
  • Providing expert advice on employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, absence and performance cases
  • Supporting workforce planning and coordination of temporary or casual staff
  • Overseeing the full employee lifecycle, from onboarding through to offboarding
  • Advising managers on HR best practice and UK employment law
  • Supporting the development of HR policies, processes and engagement initiatives
  • Acting as deputy to the Head of HR when required

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Have proven experience in a generalist HR role, ideally within a fast-paced environment
  • Hold a CIPD qualification (or be qualified by experience)
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
  • Be a confident communicator with the ability to influence and build relationships
  • Take a proactive, hands-on and commercially aware approach
  • Have experience with HR systems and reporting
