Due to the Trust expanding and welcoming three new schools into the organisation in September, an additional HR Caseworker is required to support the increased employee relations workload across the Trust.
Working as part of a team of three HR Caseworkers, you will report directly to the HR Casework Manager and work closely with the Head of HR, Headteachers, Senior Leadership Teams, Trade Union representatives and key stakeholders across the Trust.
This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional with experience of managing employee relations casework, ideally gained within a school academy trust or public sector.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing a high-volume and complex employee relations caseload, including disciplinary, grievance, capability and sickness absence matters, ensuring timely, consistent and legally compliant outcomes.
- Providing expert HR advice and guidance to Headteachers, Senior Leaders and managers on complex employment issues, supporting effective decision-making and reducing organisational risk.
- Acting as a trusted HR partner across multiple schools, building strong stakeholder relationships and delivering a responsive, solution-focused HR service.
- Leading and supporting organisational change initiatives, including restructures, redeployment exercises and workforce planning activities.
- Supporting and advising on TUPE transfers and other change management projects across the Trust.
- Working in partnership with Trade Union representatives, leading consultation processes and supporting the successful resolution of both individual and collective employee relations matters.
- Interpreting, advising on and applying HR policies and procedures, ensuring fairness, consistency and compliance with employment legislation and Trust standards.
- Coaching and upskilling managers to confidently manage employee relations matters, reducing risk and minimising case escalations where possible.
- Delivering HR guidance, briefings and training sessions to Headteachers, school leaders and managers on HR policies, procedures and best practice.
- Attending formal meetings, investigations, hearings and consultations, providing professional HR advice throughout the process.
- Maintaining accurate case management records and HR documentation in line with GDPR and data protection requirements.
- Producing and analysing casework data, identifying trends and contributing to service improvements and workforce planning initiatives.
- Supporting the wider HR team with ongoing HR projects and initiatives associated with the Trust's continued growth and development.
We are keen to speak with HR professionals who have experience managing employee relations casework within a busy environment.
