Employee Relations (ER) Advisor – Immediate Start (3-Month Contract)

Salary: £50,000 – £55,000 pro rata

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and confident ER Advisor to join our HR team on a short-term basis, providing essential support during a period of organisational change. Reporting to the HR Manager, you will play a key role in managing a busy ER caseload while also contributing to wider HR and project coordination activity.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who can hit the ground running, work autonomously, and bring strong practical ER expertise into a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of approximately 20 Employee Relations cases, including:
    • Absence management
    • Probations
    • Performance management (including PIPs)
    • Grievances
    • Disciplinary matters, including gross misconduct
  • Provide hands-on support and guidance to managers, many of whom require coaching and upskilling in people management
  • Support and advise on performance-related issues, a key focus area within the business
  • Assist in preparation for an upcoming TUPE transfer
  • Work closely with the HR Manager, supporting elements of an ongoing change management project
  • Contribute to HR coordination and administrative tasks where required

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has strong, proven experience in Employee Relations
  • Is confident managing complex and sensitive cases independently
  • Is comfortable working with and coaching inexperienced managers, helping them build capability
  • Has experience supporting performance management processes at all levels
  • Brings excellent organisational and coordination skills, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities
  • Is pragmatic, proactive, and able to quickly build credibility within a business
  • Ideally has exposure to TUPE processes and change environments
