Job Title: Die Cutter  
Location: Gillingham
Contract: Temporary to permanent
Pay rate: £13.71 per hour, £28,516.80 per annum once permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 2pm-10pm

The Die Cutter is responsible for setting up and operating cutting machines to ensure the efficient and high-quality output of printed materials. The role includes preparing machines for production runs, performing routine maintenance, adjusting settings to meet specific job requirements, and monitoring the cutting process to ensure accuracy and consistency.  

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Operate digital and die-cutting machines, ensuring that they function efficiently.
  • Perform die-cutting tasks and ensure all dies are properly stored and maintained according to guidelines.
  • Optimise machine performance, ensuring they run smoothly and are not left unattended unless fully automated.
  • Run manually fed machines at maximum capacity, striving for lean and efficient operations.
  • Keep machines and surrounding areas clean and tidy to maintain a safe and organised workspace.
  • Remain aware of factory surroundings, following safety protocols and procedures.
  • Drive a forklift truck when needed to ensure correct storage and efficient handling of materials for goods out – training to be provided if required.
  • Ensure boards are stored in the correct place and are secured safely at all times.
  • Conduct continuous quality checks during operations, following established Quality Check Guidelines to maintain high standards.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience with operating die-cutting machinery is highly desirable. However, if you have machinery or manufacturing experience this would be considered.
  • The ability to work independently or as part of a team will contribute to meeting production targets and maintaining workflow efficiency.
  • Experience working to tight production schedules and a strong attention to detail to achieve high-quality output, in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • High attention to detail in order to spot error and problem-solving skills to suggest improvements and find effective solutions to enhance productivity.
