REED are delighted to be assisting a Major NI Client with the Recruitment of a Group Buyer to join a growing and dynamic business based in their Castledawson site.
An exciting opportunity for an experienced Buyer to take full ownership of procurement within a growing, multi-service construction and FM business. This is a key hire, offering real influence to shape strategy, drive cost efficiency, and build a high-performing supply chain.
This is a standalone role with strong visibility across the business—ideal for an established Buyer or a Senior QS/Estimator ready to step up.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement & Supply Chain Leadership
Own and develop buying strategy across subcontractors, labour, materials and group spend
Audit and optimise current supply chain, reducing risk and improving commercial performance
Build and manage a structured approved supplier network
Commercial Management
Negotiate supplier agreements and group pricing frameworks
Implement robust subcontract and supply contracts (incl. CIS/IR35 compliance)
Drive cost savings, margin protection and value through supplier engagement
Depot & Materials Buying
Oversee buying across multiple depot locations
Standardise suppliers, pricing and stock frameworks
Monitor spend, demand trends and identify savings opportunities
Governance & Performance
Introduce clear procurement processes, controls and reporting
Track supplier performance and drive continuous improvement
Report on spend, savings and supply chain performance at senior level
Support tenders with commercially sound supply chain input
About You
Essential:
Proven experience in buying/procurement within construction, M&E or FM
Strong track record managing subcontractors and supplier relationships
Experience negotiating contracts and delivering measurable cost savings
Knowledge of CIS, IR35 and construction supply chain compliance
Ability to work autonomously and implement new processes
Desirable:
Experience with depot/stores or multi-site buying
Familiarity with public sector frameworks or supplier platforms (e.g. Causeway, Achilles)
CIPS (or working towards)
