Lecturer in Construction (Foundation Learning)

Reed Further Education are currently recruiting for a Lecturer in Construction to join a Further Education provider on a temporary, part-time basis.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Construction Lecturer to support Foundation Learning students, delivering engaging lessons and helping learners develop vocational skills, confidence and progression opportunities.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Construction Lecturer, Trainer or Assessor, or for a construction industry professional with teaching experience looking for a flexible teaching opportunity.

Location: Cardiff
Job Type: Temporary, Part-Time
 Start Date: 14th September 2026
 Duration: Minimum 6 weeks (until half term)
 Hours: 9.25 hours per week
 • 6 teaching hours
 • 3.25 hours administration and associated duties
Pay: £30-£35


Main Duties

  • Deliver high-quality teaching in Construction-related subjects.
  • Plan and prepare engaging lessons and learning materials.
  • Assess learner progress and provide timely feedback.
  • Support and motivate learners to achieve their goals.
  • Monitor attendance, punctuality and learner engagement.
  • Maintain accurate learner records and assessment documentation.
  • Contribute to learner reviews, tutorials and curriculum activities.
  • Comply with safeguarding, health and safety, and quality assurance requirements.

The Successful Candidate Will Have

  • Experience teaching Construction-related subjects within Further Education.
  • Current or previous industry experience within the Construction sector.
  • Experience teaching and assessing foundation-level learners.
  • Strong classroom management and learner engagement skills.
  • Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
  • A recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE, Cert Ed or QTS, or willingness to work towards one.
  • An understanding of supporting learners with additional learning needs and diverse educational backgrounds would be advantageous.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update service
  • Registered with the EWC
