Gavin Kendall from Reed Practice is currently support a Top80 Practice in the search for an experienced and driven Audit Manager to join our clients growing Audit & Assurance team in Wakefield.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual looking to take ownership of a diverse client portfolio while playing a key role in the firm’s continued growth. Working closely with Directors and senior leadership, you will lead audit assignments, manage client relationships, and support the development of junior team members.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage a portfolio of audit clients across a variety of sectors
• Lead audit assignments from planning through to completion
• Ensure all audits are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high technical standard
• Plan audits, assess risks, and develop tailored audit programmes
• Maintain strong client relationships, acting as a key point of contact
• Monitor budgets, billing, and recoverability targets
• Lead, coach, and develop junior team members, providing feedback and guidance
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and professional standards
• Contribute to business development activities, including tendering and winning new work
• Support continuous improvement of audit processes and quality

Skills & Experience
• ACA or ACCA qualified
• Strong background in practice with audit management experience
• Proven experience managing audit assignments and client portfolios
• Strong technical knowledge of accounting and auditing standards
• Experience working directly with clients
Benefits
• Salary: Up to £55,000 depending on experience
• 37.5 hours per week Mon-Friday 09.00am – 5.30pm (Hours may vary and travel would be required for audit visits)
• Flexible working around core hours (10.30am – 4.00pm) when in office
• 25 days holiday per year plus bank holidays , with the option to purchase up to 5 additional days
