Accounts Payable Assistant
Location: Colchester, Essex
Job Type: Temporary, Part-time (24 hours per week, ideally across 5 days but flexible)
Salary Range: £15.00 per hour

Join our client's Finance team as an Accounts Payable Assistant, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices, maintaining the purchase ledger, and resolving supplier queries in accordance with company policies.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Process high volumes of supplier invoices and credit notes.
- Match invoices to purchase orders and delivery notes.
- Maintain the accounts payable/purchase ledger.
- Prepare supplier payments in line with agreed terms.
- Resolve supplier statement and payment queries by phone and email.
- Assist with month-end accounts payable activities.
- Ensure compliance with internal financial controls and procedures.
- Support audits by providing invoice and payment documentation.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Previous experience in an Accounts Payable or Finance Assistant role.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work with ERP/accounting systems (SAP or similar desirable).
- Good Excel and general Microsoft Office skills.
- Confident communicator with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines.
Desirable:
- Experience working in a manufacturing or engineering business.
- Understanding of purchase order processes.
- AAT study or finance qualification (beneficial but not essential).
