Management Accountant

Reed Finance Norwich are partnering exclusively with a long-standing client of ours to recruit for a Management Accountant to join their Finance team, playing a crucial role in developing the function to provide accurate and timely information and analysis to support business decision-making. This role involves sharing time between two business sites promoting a 'one finance team' approach that facilitates cross-site and project work, benefiting operations at both locations.

Day-to-day of the role:

Provide financial reporting and analysis for the Group companies:

  • Produce monthly management accounts with variance analysis.
  • Manage the Invoice Financing facility of the business.
  • Prepare payment proposals and manage cash flow.
  • Provide guidance and support to the management teams.

Support the Group Finance Manager:

  • Conduct preparatory work on the monthly stock pack.
  • Perform account reconciliations.
  • Handle monthly management account entries.
  • Investigate account variances.

Provide support and cover for transactional finance tasks:

  • Process purchase orders and purchase ledger invoices.
  • Handle sales invoice processing and sales ledger transaction processing.
  • Perform customer/supplier account reconciliations.
  • Chase up information required to progress transactions.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Develop new analysis and reporting tools
  • Support project work (e.g., budgets, dashboards).
  • Liaise with non-Finance staff on new initiatives (e.g., Key account reporting).
  • Assist with streamlining/automating finance tasks.
  • Take on finance-related tasks that are undertaken in other departments (e.g., Credit notes, proforma invoices).
  • Handle regulatory body surveys/data collection

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Qualified or part-qualified accountant.
  • Highly numerate with a keen attention to detail.
  • Medium to advanced spreadsheet skill level.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work under own initiative and as part of a team.
