Are you looking for a role where you can genuinely make an impact rather than being another number in a large firm?

We're working with a growing, modern accountancy and business advisory practice in Stamford that is looking to appoint a Qualified Accountant to become the partner's trusted second-in-command.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious accountant who enjoys working closely with clients, taking ownership of their work, and playing a key role in the growth of a business.

The firm is built around delivering practical advice, strong client relationships, and helping businesses achieve sustainable growth. The team prides itself on providing a friendly, collaborative environment where everyone's contribution is valued.

The Opportunity

Working directly alongside the Partner, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the firm's clients and helping to shape the future of the practice.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts
  • Producing management accounts and financial reports
  • Preparing Corporation Tax and Personal Tax returns
  • Reviewing bookkeeping and VAT returns
  • Supporting and advising SME clients
  • Managing client relationships and acting as a key point of contact
  • Assisting with workflow management and practice operations
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes and client service
  • Supporting the Partner with the continued growth of the practice and junior staff members

About You

We'd love to speak with candidates who have:

  • ACA, ACCA Qualified
  • Previous experience within an accountancy practice
  • Strong knowledge of accounts preparation and tax compliance
  • Experience working with SME and owner-managed business clients
  • Familiarity with Xero, QuickBooks, Sage or similar software
  • A proactive and client-focused approach
  • The ability to work independently and take ownership of client matters

What's on Offer?

✅ Salary up to £50,000 DOE
✅ Genuine progression and long-term career development
✅ Direct exposure to the Partner and strategic decision-making
✅ Supportive, close-knit team environment
✅ Modern cloud-based systems and processes
✅ Flexible working arrangements
✅ Varied client portfolio with interesting advisory exposure
✅ Free onsite parking
✅ Regular team socials and events
✅ Positive, collaborative culture where your input is valued

If you're looking for a role where you can become a key member of a growing practice and work closely with business owners to make a real difference, we'd be delighted to hear from you.
