By enrolling in the AAT Level 4 Diploma in Professional Accounting, you will earn a widely recognised AAT qualification, equipping you with the skills to increase your success as an accounting professional and advance your career.
You will explore topics including drafting financial statements for limited companies, recommending accounting systems strategies and constructing and presenting complex management accounting reports.
To be awarded the AAT Level 4 Diploma in Professional Accounting, you’ll need to successfully complete three core units and two specialist units.

When you complete this course, you’ll be eligible to apply for full AAT membership (MAAT).
Completing this AAT Level 4 qualification typically takes 12-15 months.

We offer three different study packages with varying levels of support – Essential, Enhanced, and Extensive.
The Essential package offers the most flexibility for self-motivated, independent learners to learn from provided books and two 30-45 minute online 1-2-1 workshops per month.
The Enhanced package offers learners who want some extra tutor support the ability to learn from provided books and two 60-90 minute online 1-2-1 workshops per month.
Extensive offers the most tutor support for learners who prefer structure and guidance to learn from the virtual learning environment and one 180 minute online group workshop per week.

If you have a question about the VLE, AAT membership, workshops or anything else to do with your course, out training support team are here to help. You can call the support team whenever you need to, for as long as you’re on the programme. You can also arrange tutorials with our tutor team if there are other areas you need support with.
Students must successfully achieve the three mandatory unit and two optional unit assessments to achieve this qualification. These are normally completed at the end of each unit topic.
All assessments in this qualification:
Are set and marked by AAT
Are computer-based
Are time-limited (each exam lasts for 120-180 minutes on this qualification)
Are scheduled by training providers or assessment venues
Take place at approved training providers and assessment venues under controlled conditions.
Availability of assessments
Unit assessments are available on demand throughout the year. Results for wholly computer-marked assessments are made available via MyAAT within 24 hours of submitting the assessment. Results from assessments with written elements can take up to 6 weeks.

The AAT Level 4 Diploma in Professional Accounting is equivalent to a higher diploma or the first year’s study for a university degree.
This qualification usually takes around 12-15 months depending on your study pace.
There’s a range of career opportunities available when you have finished your AAT professional diploma in accounting. You will be able to move into senior accounting roles or even start your own accounting business. You can also use the qualification for further study with ICAEW, ACCA or CIMA to achieve Chartered Accountant status.
The AAT Level 4 qualification consists of three mandatory unit assessments, two-unit assessments for elective units and one exam. To achieve the qualification you must pass all six assessments.
Once qualified at this level you can apply for full AAT membership which means you can use the letters MAAT after your name. This can lead to a wide variety of well-paid accountancy and finance jobs including:
Professional accounting technician
Finance manager
Senior fund accountant
Purchase ledger manager
Tax supervisor
VAT accountant
The AAT Level 4 diploma is also a stepping stone to more advanced qualifications leading to Chartered Accountant status.

AAT Level 4 is at a higher education level and is the same as a first-year degree therefore has no UCAS points.
This qualification comprises three mandatory units and two specialist units from a choice of five options.
