Teaching Assistant - Secondary School

• Annual Salary: £16.35 per hour
• Location: South Cumbria
• Job Type: Full-time (8:30 am - 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday)

We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant for a secondary school in Lancaster. This role is perfect for individuals passionate about supporting children, especially those facing challenges such as dyslexia, disabilities, or health issues. The position involves working either one-on-one or in small groups to support children's educational, behavioural, and social development.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Support children one-on-one or in small groups to enhance their learning and development.
• Assist with the educational, behavioural, and social development of students.
• Work closely with teachers to tailor support to individual student needs.
• Help create a supportive, inclusive, and safe learning environment.
• Monitor and record students' progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Demonstrated reliability, commitment, and interest in working with students.
• Excellent role model qualities such as compassion, trustworthiness, politeness, and good listening skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills; must be trustworthy, punctual, patient, and confident when working with children.
• Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous but not essential.
