Reed Education is currently recruiting for a full-time General Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Cheltenham. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a Year 5 class, supporting pupils and the class teacher throughout the Autumn Term.

The position will commence in September 2026 and continue until Christmas 2026, making it ideal for an experienced Teaching Assistant or someone looking to further develop their career within education.

The Role

As a General Teaching Assistant within Year 5, you will:

• Support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons.
• Work with small groups and individual pupils to reinforce learning.
• Assist with classroom preparation and resource organisation.
• Encourage pupil participation, confidence and independence.
• Support positive behaviour and classroom routines.
• Help create a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

• Has previous experience working with primary-aged children.
• Is confident supporting Key Stage 2 pupils.
• Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Is patient, enthusiastic and adaptable.
• Works effectively as part of a team.
• Has a genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.
