Specialist Tutor (Autism)

Leicestershire | Full-time & Part-time | Start September (earlier start available)

Reed FE is recruiting Specialist Tutors to support autistic young people within a specialist provision in Leicestershire. This is a rewarding opportunity to deliver personalised, autism-affirming education in small, supportive class settings.

The Role

  • Teach small classes of 6–8 students
  • Deliver 1:1 tailored sessions
  • Plan and deliver individualised lessons to meet student needs
  • Adapt teaching approaches to support engagement and development
  • Work collaboratively with staff, families, and support teams

About You

  • PGCE or equivalent (QTS/QTLS desirable)
  • Experience in SEND/autism or strong interest
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods for diverse needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary: £34,398 – £43,545 depending on experience and qualifications
  • Additional SEND allowance up to £4,787 for specialist qualifications
  • Flexible working (full or part-time)
  • 8:30am–4:30pm hours with 30-minute lunch
  • Non-teaching Wednesdays for CPD and wellbeing

All candidates who register with Reed Further Education will have 2 years’ referencing taken up and will be required to have a DBS check completed. All offers are conditional upon satisfactory background checks.
