We are seeking an Alternative Provision Teacher to plan and deliver 1:1 and small group sessions to pupils who struggle to access mainstream education due to SEN, SEMH, medical needs, or while awaiting a specialist school setting. This role requires a dedicated professional who can create and implement tailored educational and therapeutic sessions.
Day-to-day of the role:
Plan, prepare, and deliver a range of academic and therapeutic sessions, evaluating these activities to inform future learning and meet the diverse needs and interests of each child.
Provide learning opportunities tailored to the needs, abilities, and developmental stage of each student, aiming to give every student the chance to experience success and reach their full potential.
Establish effective and positive relationships with students based on mutual respect and recognition of each student's individuality and cultural identity.
Work as part of a committed team, teaching pupils at various locations throughout Cambridgeshire.
Maintain individual records for each child to monitor and track progress, serving as a tool for planning and assessment.
Collaborate closely with schools, parents/carers, and multi-agency teams.
Act as a key worker/lead tutor for a small group of students, supporting their pastoral welfare.
Attend and participate in meetings and professional development training to stay updated with educational trends and regulations.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Experience in delivering tailored educational programs to students with SEN, SEMH, or similar needs.
Ability to create and evaluate therapeutic and educational sessions.
Strong interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
Commitment to professional development and staying informed on educational regulations and best practices.
Experience working collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team.
