SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Assistant to join our supportive team. This role involves working closely with a student with special educational needs, providing tailored support and ensuring they achieve their full potential in a nurturing environment.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Provide one-on-one support to a student with special educational needs, adapting to their individual learning requirements.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to promote the student's educational and social development.
  • Utilise appropriate strategies to manage behaviour and promote a positive learning environment.
  • Monitor and record the student's progress, providing feedback to relevant parties.
  • Facilitate the inclusion of the student in classroom activities and school events.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in a similar role, supporting children with special educational needs.
  • Strong understanding of the challenges faced by students with additional needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a dedicated approach to student development.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
