Line Leader

  • Hours: 4 on 3 off - Mon-Thurs 7am-7pm
  • C.£15 per hour (depending on experience)

We are seeking a Line Leader to oversee operations within a designated department, ensuring compliance with company and legislative health and safety requirements, maintaining high quality standards, and maximizing efficiency. The ideal candidate will be responsible for motivating a team of operatives, maintaining hygiene standards, and optimizing production processes.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Oversee the health and safety functions within the department, conducting regular inspections, accident investigations, and promoting a positive health and safety culture.
  • Motivate and supervise a team of operatives to achieve required production volumes at specified quality and minimum cost.
  • Monitor production efficiency using SIC boards and KPI information, and use this data to improve operational efficiencies.
  • Maintain hygiene and housekeeping standards throughout the department.
  • Monitor and manage labour costs, identifying and implementing opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure a consistent flow of production data for KPI reports in collaboration with the Production Manager.
  • Review and improve production methods and systems within the department to enhance efficiency.
  • Monitor waste levels and implement measures to reduce waste.
  • Set up department machinery/production lines daily to maximize effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with the Personnel Manager/Training Officer to develop and deliver effective training programs and identify potential candidates for advancement.
  • Work with the Technical Team to ensure all production control procedures meet the required standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a leadership role within a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations.
  • Excellent team management and motivational skills.
  • Ability to effectively monitor and manage production efficiency and costs.
  • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to implement process improvements.
  • Proficient in using production monitoring tools and systems.
