About the Role
We’re looking for a highly organised and proactive People Administrator to join our dynamic HR team. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in delivering a professional, responsive and confidential HR service across the organisation.
Working closely with the People Partner and wider HR team, you’ll support a wide range of HR processes—from onboarding and payroll to employee records and day-to-day HR operations—ensuring everything runs smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
HR Administration & Support
Provide comprehensive administrative support to the HR team and Executive Director – HR & Professional Development
Prepare correspondence, take minutes, and coordinate HR meetings and interviews
Manage the HR inbox, responding to queries within agreed timelines
Onboarding & Employee Lifecycle
Coordinate the end-to-end onboarding process for new starters
Ensure all compliance checks (right to work, references, DBS, qualifications) are completed
Prepare contracts, welcome packs and ensure a smooth first-day experience
Set up employee records accurately on HR systems
Payroll & Systems
Process payroll changes including starters, leavers and amendments
Maintain accurate employee data across HR systems and records
Run reports and ensure compliance with the Single Central Record
Employee Records & Compliance
Maintain personnel files, spreadsheets and HR systems with a high level of accuracy
Support audits and ensure data integrity across systems
Track sickness absence and support related reporting
General Support & Projects
Assist with annual leave tracking processes and reporting
Handle reference requests and HR documentation
Support HR events, training days and college-wide activities
Manage departmental administration including stationery and budgets
About You
We’re looking for someone who is detail-oriented, organised and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
You’ll ideally have:
Strong administrative experience in a busy office environment
Previous HR administration experience (highly desirable)
Excellent IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel
Experience working with databases or HR systems
Excellent communication and organisation skills
The ability to manage multiple tasks and work both independently and as part of a team
