Apprentice Teaching Assistant (Primary School) – Permanent Role
Start Date: September Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm Location: Strood, Kent Contract: Permanent Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience)
About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Apprentice Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Strood on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career in education while gaining hands-on experience.
The role will involve working closely with the SENCO, providing support both in and out of the classroom, with a strong focus on supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
Key Responsibilities
Provide classroom support to the teacher across a range of subjects
Work closely with SEN pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis
Assist the SENCO with administrative tasks, including record keeping and tracking progress
Support the implementation of EHCPs and individual learning plans
Help create an inclusive, supportive, and engaging learning environment
Assist with behaviour management and emotional support where needed
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Have some previous Teaching Assistant experience (desirable)
Have experience supporting SEN pupils
Be organised and comfortable with administrative tasks
Be patient, empathetic, and committed to supporting individual needs
Have strong communication and teamwork skills
Be eager to learn and develop within an apprenticeship role
