Performance & Collaboration Manager
Location: London (E16) – Hybrid Working
Rate: to £384 per day
Contract: Immediate start until 30 September 2026 (with potential extension)
About the Role
A London-based Local Authority is seeking an experienced Performance & Collaboration Manager to join their Corporate Resources & Business Improvement (CR&BI) directorate.
This is a senior, high-impact interim role offering the opportunity to work closely with the Executive Director (ED), the Directorate Leadership Team, and senior stakeholders across the organisation, including the Mayor’s Office.
You will play a critical role in driving performance, strategic alignment, and collaboration across a complex, multi-disciplinary environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day leadership and strategic support to the Executive Director
- Lead the business management function and coordinate a virtual support team across the directorate
- Oversee people and budget management, working closely with Finance and HR (People Function)
- Drive corporate initiatives including EDI, wellbeing, and organisational change
- Develop and deliver the Directorate Improvement Plan with a strong focus on inclusion
- Lead on responses to key strategic priorities including Mayoral manifesto commitments, budget cycles, and spending reviews
About You
The ideal candidate will be a senior support professional who is proactive, collaborative, and brings strong, well-rounded management experience.
Key capabilities include:
- Confident people management, including handling underperformance
- Strong understanding of budgets, financial management, and data
- Ability to produce clear, high-quality briefings for senior leaders
- Experience working proactively with senior stakeholders, including influencing and advising at leadership level
You will also demonstrate:
- Proven senior leadership experience in a complex organisation
- Strong background in programme, performance, or business management roles
- Experience managing cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Track record of delivering strategic initiatives and organisational change
