People Operations Adviser

  • Salary: £20 - £23 per hour

We are seeking a People Operations Adviser to join our dynamic People Operations team at the University. This role is crucial for providing multi-functional HR support and acting as the first point of contact for HR-related queries. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in supporting the delivery of our People Enabling strategy and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction through effective HR administration and query resolution.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for general HR queries received via various channels such as phone and chat.
  • Support query resolution by researching solutions and escalating complex inquiries to appropriate parties, such as ER Specialists.
  • Liaise with Centres of Expertise (CoEs) to understand and implement HR strategies and frameworks effectively.
  • Undertake HR administration tasks using available tools, templates, and HR systems to ensure timely and consistent delivery.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve HR service delivery, aiming to enhance employee experience and meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Develop specialist HR knowledge to respond more effectively to related queries.
  • Collaborate with HR Specialists, CoEs, and Senior People Business Partners to deliver comprehensive solutions and seamless HR service.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of systems, policies, and procedures to provide accurate advice and identify opportunities for improvement.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Significant experience in providing generalist support across various HR specialisms.
  • Proven track record in customer and query resolution.
  • Substantial experience in HR administration.
  • Demonstrable experience in interpreting policies and procedures and providing first-line advice and guidance.
  • Proficiency in using HR databases and Microsoft Office suite to an intermediate level.
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships with key stakeholders.
