 £14.61 per hour | Monday–Friday, 12:15pm–1:45pm (7.5 hours per week)

Reed Education is seeking a caring and dedicated Mealtime Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with Special Educational Needs (SEN) at a welcoming primary school in Plymouth.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience supporting children with additional needs, or an individual who is passionate about helping children feel safe, included, and supported during lunchtime.

The Role

As a Mealtime Assistant, you will provide dedicated support to a pupil throughout the lunchtime period, helping to ensure they have a positive and enjoyable experience in a safe environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 support to a pupil with SEN during lunch and playtime.
• Encouraging positive social interaction and engagement with peers.
• Supporting the pupil with transitions between lunchtime activities.
• Promoting independence while ensuring the pupil's safety and wellbeing.
• Working closely with school staff to follow agreed support strategies.
• Helping to manage any behavioural, emotional, or sensory needs in a calm and supportive manner.

The Ideal Candidate

• Has experience working with children, particularly those with SEN (essential).
• Is patient, nurturing, and reliable.
• Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Can build positive relationships with children and staff.
• Has a genuine passion for supporting children's development and wellbeing.
