Our client is a well-established professional services business that supports individuals and small businesses with their financial and compliance requirements. Due to continued growth, they are looking to add an Operations Accountant to their friendly team in Wrexham.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with accountancy experience, whether you're studying AAT, looking to further your studies, or keen to gain broader exposure across accounts, tax and payroll. Full training will be provided for the right person with the right attitude.

What you'll be doing

You'll play a key role in supporting clients with a range of accountancy and payroll responsibilities, including:

• Preparing Self Assessment Tax Returns
• Producing sole trader accounts
• Processing payroll using bespoke systems
• Raising invoices and recording payments
• Completing CIS returns and RTI submissions
• Reconciling bank and control accounts
• Supporting the preparation of financial statements
• Assisting with limited company accounts and corporation tax returns
• Handling client queries via phone, email and occasional meetings
• Liaising with HMRC and other third parties when required
• Working closely with colleagues to ensure a high-quality service is delivered to clients

What we're looking for

We're keen to speak with candidates who have:

• Experience in an accountancy, finance, payroll or bookkeeping role
• Strong numerical and analytical skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Good organisational and time management abilities
• Confident communication skills, both written and verbal
• Experience preparing Self Assessment Tax Returns would be highly advantageous
• AAT studies (or a desire to start/continue studying) would be beneficial
• A qualification in a numerate subject would also be considered
