Salary Range: £40k – £50k (Pro rata to Term time only)
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our specialist independent college, providing crucial support to students aged 19–25 with moderate, severe, and profound and multiple learning difficulties. This role is integral in enhancing our students' educational experiences by addressing their sensory, motor, and functional needs.
Day-to-day of the role:
Work closely with educators, therapists, families, and external agencies to develop and implement individualised therapy programs.
Conduct assessments and implement therapy programs for young adults with complex needs, including PMLD, SLD, and autism.
Design and deliver sensory integration programs and other OT programs as required.
Lead engaging CPD sessions for college staff to enhance their understanding and skills in supporting complex needs.
Manage clinical caseload effectively, ensuring timely and appropriate interventions.
Work with parents to ensure they can effectively support OT programs at home.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
Degree or Graduate Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
Minimum of two years' experience working as an Occupational Therapist, preferably within a specialist education setting.
Experience equivalent to NHS Band 6 or 7 in Occupational Therapy.
Proficiency in designing and delivering sensory integration programs.
Ability to lead and manage staff, securing their commitment to the college's goals.
Strong understanding of the needs of students with learning difficulties including PMLD and ASD.
