About the Role

As a Teletriage Registered Nurse, you will provide critical telephone and messenger-based screenings to evaluate the medical and mental health concerns of our members. You will work under the guidance of our Medical Director and Clinical Leadership team in our 24/7 support centre. This role is crucial in assessing member conditions, prioritising care, making appropriate referrals, and performing critical follow-ups.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Triage patients with a variety of acute and chronic conditions, including medical, mental health, safety, and social issues.
  • Utilise the Manchester Tele-Triage System (MTS) for thorough assessment and follow-up with patients.
  • Determine the urgency and criticality of member conditions to facilitate appropriate referrals.
  • Coordinate with mental health services, emergency services, and other healthcare facilities as needed.
  • Make necessary appointments on behalf of members and ensure continuous care by working with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Provide referrals to counselling and partner services according to member needs.
  • Carry out follow-up calls to evaluate the need for further assistance and support continuity of care.
  • Collaborate with a team of doctors, nurses, and mental health professionals to provide the most appropriate and accessible outcomes for our patients.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Nursing/BSc(Hons) registered with the NMC board without restrictions.
  • Band 6 experience with a strong background in accident and emergency.
  • Mandatory experience in Triage and Emergency Department.
  • Experience in Mental Health is advantageous.
  • Strong team player with excellent communication and assessment skills.
