We are seeking a dedicated Night Shift Quality Control Inspector to join our clients' team. This role is crucial for ensuring the control and compliance of products within the Quality Control inspection department in accordance with current manufacturing and Quality Assurance procedures, engineering drawings, and customer requirements.
Day-to-day of the role:
Verify the conformity of parts, assemblies, and sub-assemblies according to engineering drawings, the quality management system, and specific customer requirements.
Ensure comprehensive completion and auditable traceability of inspection records.
Support Production with the timely verification of batch first off.
Create and compile First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs).
Conduct inspection duties across all areas of the manufacturing and supply chain process as required.
Identify and report non-conformance as per the Company procedure.
Ensure compliance with Quality Assurance and HSE policies and procedures at all times.
Process and return documentation for parts dispatched for external processing.
Highlight and escalate quality concerns to production management and quality engineering.
Support problem-solving initiatives to drive root cause analysis and preventive action.
Participate in New Product Introduction planning meetings and advise on inspection methodology.
Engage in Continuous Improvement initiatives.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Ability to interpret and understand technical data including customer drawings, specifications, and FAIR documentation.
Experience with goods inward inspection of finished products/components.
Familiarity with aerospace customers and suppliers is preferred.
Proficiency in inspecting precision components ensuring adherence to drawing requirements.
Skilled in setting and using a variety of direct inspection gauges and measuring equipment.
Experience with Co-ordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) operation.
Knowledge of Sheet Metal/Fabricated parts inspection.
HND qualified or equivalent, with good knowledge of both Imperial and metric geometrical definitions.
Strong inspection, testing, and examination techniques.
Excellent numerical skills and the ability to make accurate measurement calculations.
Effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team, managing tight deadlines while maintaining quality standards.
