Mobile App Tester (Contract - Outside IR35)

Location: Remote
Contract Length: Short-term (June–July project)
Start Date: Immediate

The Opportunity

We’re working with an exciting client who is about to launch a brand-new customer-facing mobile application designed to drive sales and enhance user experience. As the app approaches its BETA phase, they are looking to bring in an experienced Mobile App Tester to provide an independent, external perspective on quality and functionality across both iOS and Android platforms.

This is a short-term, project-based contract, ideal for someone who thrives on fast-paced delivery and has a keen eye for detail in both functionality and design.

The Role

You’ll be supporting the final stages of delivery by conducting manual testing of a native mobile application (iOS & Android). Working alongside an internal QA team, your focus will be to validate that the app:

  • Functions as intended across all key features
  • Accurately reflects the approved designs and UI standards
  • Delivers a smooth and consistent user experience

You’ll act as an external quality checkpoint, providing valuable, unbiased insight ahead of a scheduled penetration test in early July.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform end-to-end manual testing across Android and iOS devices
  • Review the app against design specifications to ensure visual accuracy and consistency
  • Identify and document bugs, UX issues, and functional discrepancies
  • Provide a detailed test report outlining findings, risks, and recommendations
  • Work to a tight timeline, ensuring the app is test-ready by 26th June

About You

We’re looking for someone who can hit the ground running, with:

  • Proven experience in mobile app testing (iOS & Android)
  • Strong background in manual testing and exploratory testing
  • A keen eye for detail, particularly around UI/UX and design fidelity
  • Experience writing clear and comprehensive test reports
  • Ability to work independently and provide an objective, user-focused perspective

Additional Information

  • This is not a full QA ownership role — the client has an internal team in place
  • Your contribution will be from a functional and user experience standpoint
  • Security testing is already scheduled, so this role focuses on usability and performance validation

If you’re available immediately and have the expertise to ensure a high-quality app release, we’d love to hear from you.
