About the Role
We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Inspector to join a well-established engineering business on a 3-month temporary basis. This role is based at a busy manufacturing site and would suit someone with a strong metal shop or precision engineering background.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out inspection of mechanical components and assemblies to ensure compliance with engineering drawings and specifications
Perform first-off, in-process, and final inspections
Use a variety of measuring equipment (e.g. verniers, micrometers, gauges)
Interpret technical drawings and tolerance requirements
Identify and report non-conformances, working closely with production teams
Maintain accurate inspection records and documentation
Support continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the workshop
Requirements
Previous experience in a Mechanical Inspector / Quality Inspector role
Strong background within a metal shop or precision engineering environment
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Experience using manual inspection tools and measuring equipment
High attention to detail with a strong commitment to quality
Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively
Desirable
Experience working within electronics or electro-mechanical manufacturing
Knowledge of quality standards and inspection processes
