Reed are delighted to be working with a highly esteemed and growing organisation in Teesside, who are looking to appoint a Management Accountant / Assistant Management Accountant, offering strong exposure to business partnering and a clear development pathway. Working for a company who are widely regarded as the leaders in their field, this role provides the opportunity to work closely with senior stakeholders, helping you build commercial awareness and influencing skills early in your career. It’s an ideal position for someone looking to move beyond transactional finance into a more commercially focused role. You will join a small, close-knit finance team, working directly alongside senior finance leadership. The role has been designed with succession planning in mind, with clear opportunities for long-term progression.
Your responsibilities will include:
Production of management accounts and financial reporting
Month-end processes including journals, accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations
Preparing and analysing management accounts and group reporting packs
Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes
Performance analysis and variance reporting
Attending and contributing to review meetings with operational managers
Payroll analysis and contract performance reviews
Due to the size of the team, there will also be some involvement in transactional finance activities such as accounts payable, expenses, and supplier management. However, the primary focus of the role is on management accounts and stakeholder engagement.

To be successful in this role you must be part-ACCA/CIMA qualified, and with current experience in management accounts. You will have strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail, and with excellent communication skills and the confidence to work with stakeholders. This role is best suited to someone ambitious and keen to progress within a finance career.
