Teaching Assistant - KS1 Focus

Join a vibrant primary school in Plymouth as a Teaching Assistant, focusing on supporting early learning within a KS1 classroom. This role is perfect for someone who is motivated and has a strong background in phonics and reading development.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Support pupils in Reception/KS1 with daily classroom activities.
  • Deliver small group phonics interventions.
  • Assist with reading, writing, and basic numeracy.
  • Help create an engaging and supportive classroom environment.
  • Support pupils’ confidence and participation in lessons.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience working with primary school-aged children (KS1 preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of phonics schemes (essential).
  • Enthusiastic and nurturing approach.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.

Desirable:

  • Experience with Read Write Inc or similar phonics schemes.
  • Relevant TA qualification.
