About the Role

We are looking for a proactive and people-focused HR Adviser to join our HR Advisory Team. In this role, you will work closely with HR Partners to deliver a high-quality, professional HR service across a defined area of the University, supporting managers and employees throughout the full employee lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of contact for managers and employees on a wide range of HR matters
  • Provide practical, business-focused HR advice across employee relations, including disciplinary, grievance, absence, and performance issues
  • Support managers with people management responsibilities, fostering effective and consistent practices
  • Build strong working relationships and act as a trusted HR partner within your assigned areas
  • Advise on recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes to attract and retain high-quality staff
  • Support key HR processes such as probation management, flexible working, maternity and parental leave, and fixed-term contract reviews
  • Work collaboratively with HR Services, Payroll, and Occupational Health to ensure efficient delivery of HR operations
  • Contribute to HR projects and initiatives aligned to the HR Strategy
  • Deliver HR-related learning sessions alongside People Development colleagues

Essential Criteria

  • Degree or equivalent experience
