About the Role

Ipswich Borough Council is looking for a proactive and organised Civic and Projects Officer to support the delivery of key Democratic Services. This is a varied role where you’ll play a central part in supporting the Mayor, Councillors, and the wider democratic process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day running of the Mayoral service, including diary and inbox coordination
  • Plan and deliver Civic and Charity events
  • Manage and support the Mayoral team, including casual staff
  • Oversee budgets for Mayoral activities
  • Lead improvements to Councillor support processes (e.g. training, interests, ICT support)
  • Support election logistics in partnership with Electoral Services
  • Assist in delivering the Democratic Services operational plan and key projects
  • Drive continuous improvements and innovation across the service
