Reed Accountancy Norwich are seeking a Senior Finance Assistant to join a busy and supportive finance team in Norwich on a temporary basis. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional with a strong background in purchase ledger to step into a supervisory position.
Day-to-Day of the Role
Supervise the Purchase Ledger function and support the wider finance team.
Process and review purchase ledger transactions including invoices, purchase orders, and reconciliations.
Prepare and approve payment runs ensuring deadlines are met.
Reconcile bank accounts and oversee monthly payment processes.
Manage supplier statement reconciliations and resolve queries.
Review and reconcile corporate credit card transactions.
Support audits and ensure compliance with financial procedures.
Supervise and mentor Finance Assistants, prioritising workloads and supporting development.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Proven experience in purchase ledger and payments processing.
Strong background working in a busy finance environment.
Experience using computerised accounting systems.
Previous supervisory or mentoring experience.
AAT qualified (or equivalent) or qualified by experience.
Strong attention to detail with excellent numerical and organisational skills.
Confident using Excel and financial systems.
