Our client is a well-established precision engineering company supplying high-quality machined components to a range of industries. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an experienced CNC Miller with strong programming and setting experience to join their skilled machining team.
The Role
As a CNC Miller Programmer/Setter, you will be responsible for programming, setting, and operating CNC milling machines to produce high-precision components to strict quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Programming CNC milling machines using Fanuc, Heidenhain, Haas, or Siemens controls.
Setting and operating 3-axis and 5-axis CNC milling machines.
Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications.
Selecting appropriate tooling and optimising machining processes.
Conducting first-off inspections and ensuring components meet quality requirements.
Making programme edits and adjustments to improve efficiency and reduce cycle times.
Working to tight tolerances and maintaining high levels of accuracy.
Adhering to all health and safety procedures within the workshop.
Requirements
Essential
Proven experience as a CNC Miller Programmer/Setter.
Ability to programme directly from engineering drawings.
Strong knowledge of CNC controls (Fanuc, Heidenhain, Haas, Siemens or similar).
Experience setting and operating CNC milling machines.
Ability to work to tight tolerances and quality standards.
Excellent problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
Desirable
Offline programming experience using software such as Fusion 360, Mastercam, Edgecam, or Powermill.
Experience with 4-axis or 5-axis machining.
Apprentice trained or hold a relevant engineering qualification.
CMM inspection experience.
