We are seeking a passionate, nurturing, and creative EYFS Teacher to join a welcoming and community-focused primary school on a fixed-term basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality early years education, ensuring all pupils are engaged, supported, and encouraged to achieve their full potential within a safe and stimulating learning environment.
This role would suit a practitioner with a strong understanding of early childhood development and a commitment to inclusive, child-centred learning.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching and Learning
Plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging and developmentally appropriate lessons in line with the EYFS Framework
Create a stimulating indoor and outdoor learning environment that fosters curiosity, independence, and exploration
Adapt teaching to meet the individual needs of all pupils, including those with SEND and EAL
Monitor, assess, and record pupil progress, maintaining accurate and up-to-date observations
Use assessment effectively to inform planning and next steps in learning
Classroom Management
Establish a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment
Promote high standards of behaviour in line with school policies
Foster strong relationships with children to support their emotional and social development
Pastoral and Safeguarding Responsibilities
Safeguard and promote the welfare of all children in line with statutory guidance
Support pupils’ wellbeing, personal development, and readiness for learning
Maintain a vigilant approach to safeguarding concerns and follow procedures correctly
Partnership Working
Build positive relationships with parents and carers, sharing information about children’s progress and wellbeing
Work collaboratively with colleagues, teaching assistants, and external professionals
Contribute to team planning and wider school life during the duration of the contract
Person Specification
Essential
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching within EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage)
Strong knowledge of the EYFS statutory framework
Ability to create an engaging, inclusive, and structured learning environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting child welfare
Desirable
Experience working in a faith-based or values-led school setting
Knowledge of early phonics programmes
Experience supporting children with additional needs
