Responsibilities:
Provide direct support to individuals suffering with various levels of mental illness accessing the Sanctuary.
Facilitate practical interventions such as meals, beverages, washing facilities, emergency clothing etc.
Identify appropriate services and resources based on the individual’s presenting needs and make appropriate referrals and/or signposting.
Encourage and support clients to access appropriate services and resources as required.
Ensure all individuals accessing the Sanctuary are assisted in line with the Recovery Plan.
Provide an out of hours, non-accommodation-based service offering support between the hours of 18:00 to 02:00, 7 days per week, 365 days per year.
Support the needs of adults (aged over 17 years and 9 months) who are in, at risk of, or at the point of a social/emotional crisis within the Swansea Bay University Health Board area.
Enable individuals to self-manage and find their own solutions to their own crisis in a non-judgemental, empathetic, and respectful way.
Provide somewhere to turn to for people (and those connected to them) experiencing social/emotional crisis, anxiety, panic attacks, depression and/or suicidal thoughts.
Provide 1-1 support sessions focusing on the presenting cause to help the individual recover/de-escalate from their immediate crisis.
Support individuals in developing a short-term recovery plan for the proceeding hours/days/weeks.
