We are seeking a Benefits Quality and Assessment Officer to join a local authority team on a 12-week contract. This role is perfect for someone with a strong background in Revenue and Benefits or Housing Benefits, who thrives on ensuring accuracy and compliance in benefit assessments.
Day-to-day of the role:
Quality check Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction assessments.
Review calculations and supporting evidence to ensure accuracy.
Ensure compliance with current benefits legislation.
Identify errors and areas for improvement in the assessment process.
Produce simple reports to support performance and improvement measures.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Experience in Revenue and Benefits or Housing Benefits.
Good understanding of benefits legislation.
Experience using NEC or Northgate systems.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Confident working independently with minimal supervision.
