Location: Hybrid (2 days in office, 3 days from home)
Salary: £18.16 per hour (Umbrella rates available)
We are seeking an Annual Review Coordinator to join our team on a temporary basis. This role is crucial for the comprehensive and professional delivery of the Local Authority’s statutory duty to review Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities. The ideal candidate will have experience in handling high caseloads and be familiar with the statutory frameworks involved.
Day-to-day of the role:
Carry out routine casework related to children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities in accordance with the Local Authority's statutory duty to review EHCPs.
Process and analyse annual reviews of EHCPs under the guidance of the EHCIO to ensure that decisions and actions are undertaken in line with legislation and SES policy and procedures.
Analyse and assess annual review recommendations, decide whether to amend an EHCP, and respond accordingly within statutory guidelines.
Support the EHCIO in the production, analysis, and interpretation of audits of performance relating to annual reviews, including complaints and reporting on outcomes.
Organise and effectively deliver the Local Authority's obligations in relation to the annual review of EHCPs across the academic year in partnership with families, schools, and other professionals.
Maintain effective communication with parents, schools, central services, health, and social care professionals on individual cases.
Undertake any necessary casework and consultations with schools, families, or other professionals prior to issuing an amended EHCP.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Recent and relevant experience in a specialist area involving multi-professional assessment.
Experience in a special educational needs context within a Local Authority or statutory body.
Experience working with parents, schools, and other agencies in relevant areas of work.
Experience of planning within a statutory framework.
Proficiency in extracting information from a range of data sources and presenting it in different formats according to the audience.
Working understanding of the Children’s and Families Act and the statutory process for an Education, Health and Care Plan.
Working knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice.
Degree in a relevant area or equivalent experience.
Must have experience with Capita One, SharePoint, Teams, and the Microsoft package.
