We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join a well-established lettings agency in Durham. This role is perfect for a finance professional with strong expertise in Sage Line 50, looking to become part of a supportive and growing team.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Data entry using Sage Line 50 Accounts.
  • Reconciling bank, cash, and credit card accounts.
  • Maintaining debtor and creditor ledgers.
  • Preparing, submitting, and reconciling VAT returns.
  • Posting journals including prepayments and accruals.
  • Full trial balance reconciliation at year end.
  • Ensuring compliance with Companies House and HMRC deadlines.
  • Posting invoices raised and rental income received.
  • Reconciling client deposits received and repaid.
  • Chasing rental arrears where required.
  • Supporting with general office administration and client liaison.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years’ accounting experience.
  • Minimum 5 years’ Sage Line 50 experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
