The IOSH Managing Occupational Health and Wellbeing course has four core modules:
Module 1: A Healthy Company, focusing on business sense and needs assessments;
Module 2: Health Risk Assessment, addressing hazard categories;
Module 3: Fitness for Work, covering conditions affecting work; and
Module 4: Wellbeing, on promoting health programmes.
It equips managers to support staff, manage health risks, and understand legal duties, culminating in a multiple-choice test and a practical workplace health risk assessment

The Managing Occupational Health and Wellbeing certificate course is accredited by IOSH, the Institution for Occupational Safety and Health.
You will receive a digital certificate from IOSH upon successful completion of the course
You must complete a 30-minute multiple-choice quiz and 1-hour project to pass. You have unlimited attempts to pass the assessments but must pass before your 14 days finishes.
For eLearning: You have 14 days to complete the course and pass the assessment from the date you sign up.
For Virtual Classroom and In-Person: You have 14 days to complete the course and pass the assessment from the date you attend your tutor-led training session.

The course is free to study for line managers in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in England, with places fully funded by the Department for Work & Pensions until 31 March 2026. (Regular price: up to £249 +VAT)
Funding is limited to 5,000 places, on a first-come, first-served basis.
Eligibility criteria: you must work for an SME (2-249 employees); have line management responsibility for at least one worker; and must not have studied this course in the last three years
There’s no limit to how many managers study this course from your organisation, as long as they meet the eligibility criteria.

No, not at all. In fact, you need to make sure you haven’t completed the IOSH Managing Occupational Health and Wellbeing course within the last three years to be eligible for this fully funded course. No other training or qualifications are required.
