Apprenticeship details
The Level 3 Team Leader Apprenticeship provides a hands-on, immersive experience that equips learners with practical skills to lead teams within their organisation and industry sector.
Here’s what you'll learn:
- Principles of leadership and management
- Managing a team to achieve results
- Contributing to the delivery of a project
- Building stakeholder relationships
- Managing budgets and resources
- Managing data and information
- Managing own personal and professional development
The Level 3 Team Leader Apprenticeship typically spans 12 to 15 months plus 3 months End Point Assessment, allowing apprentices to gain both theoretical knowledge and practical experience at a manageable pace.
Throughout this period, apprentices participate in structured learning modules, practical workplace assignments, and regular check-ins with mentors to track progress. This flexible timeframe accommodates learners with varying schedules and allows for gradual skill-building that aligns with real-world application in their roles. By the end of the apprenticeship, apprentices are well-prepared with the skills and confidence needed to excel in their leadership role.
The programme is split into four main phases which include an induction, core modules, End Point Assessment preparation and the End Point Assessment.
It is essential that applicants have direct line management of at least 2 reports.
Applicants that do not have Level 2 English or Maths will have the option to achieve functional skills while completing the programme.
Your off-the-job training will be assessed throughout the programme and will be based on the Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours (SKBs) you develop.
Throughout the program, apprentices will complete practical assignments, reflective journals, and knowledge-based tests, all designed to apply theory to real-world scenarios. These assessments are structured to support continuous learning, helping apprentices develop critical skills in areas such as project management, managing budgets and resources, stakeholder collaboration, managing data and information, professional and personal development, decision making and supporting change.
Regular feedback from tutors ensures that apprentices stay on track and are equipped to meet the demands of their roles.
An End Point Assessment takes place once you have completed all the on-programme requirements of the apprenticeship and is an assessment of the Skills, Knowledge and Behaviours.
Should you wish, you'll also have the opportunity to take your learning to the next level by completing a Level 3 CMI qualification.
