We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Redhill. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about working with children and supporting individual learning needs. An interest in sports would be highly beneficial, as this is a key area of engagement for the pupil you will be supporting.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Provide 1:1 support to a pupil, helping them access the curriculum and engage in learning
  • Assist the class teacher in adapting activities to meet the pupil’s individual needs
  • Use sports and physical activity as a tool to motivate and support engagement
  • Build a positive, trusting relationship with the pupil to support their development and wellbeing
  • Encourage positive behaviour and support emotional regulation
  • Assist with classroom preparation and general support where required
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff and SEN professionals

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children in a school or similar setting
  • A patient, supportive, and nurturing approach
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A genuine interest in supporting children with additional needs
  • Interest in sports or physical activities (desirable)
  • Ability to work consistently on a 1:1 basis and build rapport
