The Opportunity

Are you passionate about driving environmental standards and sustainability in construction?

An established and growing civil engineering contractor is looking to recruit an Environmental Sustainability Advisor to play a key role in supporting environmental compliance and delivering sustainability initiatives across a diverse portfolio of infrastructure and civil engineering projects.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting environmental compliance across multiple live projects
  • Conducting site inspections, audits, and monitoring environmental performance
  • Assisting site teams with environmental management plans and best practice
  • Tracking key sustainability metrics (carbon, waste, energy, water, fuel usage)
  • Supporting carbon reduction and Net Zero strategies
  • Investigating incidents and driving corrective actions
  • Delivering toolbox talks and environmental briefings
  • Collaborating with clients, regulators, and stakeholders
  • Contributing to sustainability reporting and PQQ submissions
  • Maintaining ISO 14001 environmental management systems

What We’re Looking For

  • Degree-qualified in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, or similar
  • 2+ years’ experience in an environmental/sustainability role (ideally within civils, construction, or utilities)
  • Strong understanding of environmental legislation and compliance
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities
  • Full UK driving licence
