Salary: £40,000 – £55,000 + up to 15% bonus

We’re supporting a growing automotive operation and are hiring two experienced technical specialists to support vehicle quality and readiness at UK port locations. This role sits at a key point in the supply chain, ensuring vehicles are inspected, compliant and ready for delivery. It combines hands-on diagnostics with onsite technical oversight and supplier coordination.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Pre-delivery inspections and quality checks
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical and EV faults
  • Support and guide onsite workshop teams
  • Step in on complex repairs where needed
  • Monitor repair progress and ensure timely vehicle release
  • Record faults, track trends and support reporting
  • Support high-voltage safety and battery management

Working Pattern

Based onsite at Southampton or Bristol Portbury. Typically 3–4 days onsite (technical + supervision) and 1–2 days office-based (reporting + admin). Flexibility required for peak demand.

Essential Requirements

  • Automotive background (Technician / Diagnostic / Workshop Controller)
  • EV / hybrid systems experience
  • High-voltage safety knowledge or certification
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability
  • Able to work independently and make decisions onsite

Desirable

  • OEM, dealer or port operations experience
  • Experience guiding workshop teams
  • Basic reporting / Excel skills
